About Scott

Horror author Scott Goriscak began writing in high school but it wasn’t until a conversation with Horror Writer Clive Barker did his writing turn to the dark side. Scott published his first collection of short stories, “Grim and Ghastly” in 2008. He followed up with a second collection “Dead and Decaying” in 2009. Also in 2009 his short story “Home Sweet Home” was selected for the 2010 "Masters of Horror Anthology. The following year his story “Easy to Digest.” was chosen for the 2011 Masters of Horror anthology “Damned If You Don’t.” In 2011 he was published in numerous anthologies. Soup of Souls Anthology-“No Man Left Behind” I Believe in Werewolves-“Parenting-Not for the Faint of Heart” Satan’s Toy Box-“Playing with Dolls” Satan’s Toy Box-“The South Shall Rise Again” Post-Apocalyptic Raids-“Who are the Faithful” Spirits of the Night- “Lost and Found” and “Field of Shrieks” The Spirit of Poe which all proceeds of the publication go to keeping the home of Edgar Allan Poe open to the public due to the city of Baltimore budget cuts.

Angelic Knight Press published Scott’s third collection of horror in 2012 entitled “Horrorism.” The Horror Society Published Scott’s fourth collection “Welcome to the Dark Side” in October 2012. He is currently putting the final touches on his first novel “The New Jersey Devil”.

Reviews and reader comments

Scott Goriscak's Playing with Dolls is a typical Goriscak gem.

Scott knows how to keep you reading and turning pages. His writing is fresh, promising, and imaginative in this genre of horror writing. If you've never read Scott's writing before, and you enjoy this sort of genre, this is a fabulous place to begin. Scott can take you places you never thought you'd go. His work is reminiscent of early Clive Barker. I am very anxious to read more of his books. Keep writing Scott! Your imagination and creativity amaze me.

Mr. Goriscak has surprised me yet again with his imaginative horror. Enjoyed this book even better than the first. An easy and enjoyable read. Can't wait for his next endeavor.

This is a great summer read! Scott takes 'normal' events and adds a unique twist that takes you to an unpredictable ending. These are tales that make you think twice about seemingly innocent situations and events. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire collection of stories!

This is Scott's second book and I love it. It is not something you want to read if you are the baby sitter waiting for Mom and Dad to come home.
Loved Scott's first book Grim & Ghastly, I think this one is even better. I highly recommend Dead and Decaying and I look forward to Scott's next book.

Easy To Digest by Scott Goriscak. (This story was by the way, no means easy on the stomach; do not be fooled by the name. It was disgusting, made me picture what a vomit smoothie would look like and then of course taste like. And the finale…well, I will not give it away but I think I am in love.)

Scott Goriscak. (This story was by the way, no means easy on the stomach; do not be fooled by the name. It was disgusting, made me picture what a vomit smoothy would look like and then of course taste like. And the finale…well, I will not give it away but I think I am in love.)

Oh my God. If there was ever a more revolting story ever written, I don’t know what it is… except maybe for Stephen King’s “Survivor type.” Exemplary work, Mr. Goriscak or may I call you Mr. Gore? It seems more fitting! Best Witches K.K. Editor of Damned if You Don’t.

This Story is Sick Awesome! Lee Pletzers Publisher Triskaideka Books

I first read Scot Goriscak in The Spirit of Poe: A Charitable Anthology with a disturbing and somehow beautiful story called "Field of Shrieks." So, when the opportunity came to read this one, I jumped at the chance. Goriscak has a wonderful ability to draw me right into the story. It's engaging enough that as he builds tension, I'm carried right along, almost forgetting it's horror until he hits me right between the eyes with it. Great collection for any of his fans or any fans of horror in general.
